In this ongoing class learners will focus on Opinion, Formative and Narrative Writing. This class will work on improving technique, structure and formation of paragraphs. Learners will learn how to transform their paragraphs into short essays. Learners are encouraged to post their work in the classroom or through private message to the teacher for feedback at the end of each class. Weekly Schedule: Day 1: Brainstorming Day 2: Draft Paragraphs Day 3: Finalize Paragraphs into a Short Essay Week of 4/22 - Opinion / Would you travel to space? Week of 4/29 - Formative / Who was Abraham Lincoln? Week of 5/6 - Narrative / What does your average day look like? Week of 5/13 - Opinion / Candy or Ice Cream? Week of 5/20 - Formative / What is the Statue of Liberty? Week of 5/27 - Narrative / How do you walk a dog? Week of 6/3 - Opinion / Video Games or Sports? Week of 6/10 - Formative / Who is your hero? Week of 6/17 - Narrative / How do you make a sandwich?

My name is Julianna, and I am a homeschool mom to three wonderful children. A little bit about me is that I am a volunteer member of the Civil Air Patrol (Auxiliary of the Air Force) working directly with youth to strengthen their leadership, aviation and aerospace skills. I am a leader of a local homeschool co-op and ran a successful daycare / preschool pre-covid. My interests are aviation, camping, and American history.
A quote that inspires me is: “Whatever you are, be a good one.”
This quote to me means that all we can do is be the very best we can be. In my classes I encourage all learners to try their very best and to always support one another. Positivity is very important when it comes to a healthy learning environment.
