NOTE TO PARENTS (I am offering this class in two different formats, multi-day and ongoing.)

This class is part of the year-long curriculum for high intermediate students ages 13+.
Each unit (4 weeks) is independent from each other and can be taken by itself or as part of a sequence.
Students can join the series at any time during the year.  
The year- long curriculum is divided in Fall Term 1, 2 and 3 (September-November), Winter Term 1, 2 and 3 (January-March) and Spring Term 1, 2 and 3 (April-June). 

This is a highly interactive class where students are expected to participate in the activities to practice the language. They are encouraged to keep their cameras on as much as possible. 
Two years of prior knowledge is suggested to fully enjoy the class.

GOALS AND DESCRIPTION:
Students will learn and practice the following communicative functions:
 
Week 1- Talking about how I get ready to go out of the house.
Students will listen to and read the story “No voy a levantarme” (I am not going to wake up). Some of the activities that will follow include discussions, choosing the appropriate answer, asking questions, describing and summarizing. 
 
 
Week 2- Explaining my daily life, routines and activities.
Practice will include using the present tense of reflexive and pronominal verbs, me despierto, me levanto, me ducho, me cepillo, me peino etc. (I get up, I wake up, I shower, I brush etc.) and present of modal verbs, poder, querer, tengo + que + infinitive (can, be able, want, have to + infinitive)
 
 
Week 3- Telling what time I do things and why I am rushed to be on time.
Students will practice apologizing and giving reasons why they were late or unable to do something. They will use past tense of verbs poder and tener que + infinitive (could, had to + infinitive) with porque and sin embargo (because, however). 
 
 
Week 4- Describing what I like and don’t like about my routine and the changes I would make.
Students will practice the conditional of high frequency verbs (I would + infinitive). They will use past tense and future tense of verbs to explain what their schedules were like in the past and what they’ll be like in the future. 
Students will design their favorite schedule while practicing vocabulary related to time, days of the week, months and seasons.
