+ 26 years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on asylum and refugee law. + Former a refugee officer in Kakuma, Kenya and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the US Immigration and Citizenship Services, Refugee, Asylum, and International Operations Division. + Law professor in asylum and refugee law for Catholic University. + Taught course on refugee resettlement to middle school, high school, and civics groups. + Immigration Judge. + Published extensively on the topic of Immigration Law in academic law journals and legal periodicals. + Former Deputy Chief Counsel for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. I have been deeply immersed in this area of law my entire professional career to include academic writing on the topic. I have taught on this topic to middle and high school students. Social and political issues will be handled with the utmost sensitivity.
