This class is for grade school kids who want or need practice in their social skills. Kids often don't know how to start conversations with others or find themselves speechless when friends need help or get hurt. This class allows them to practice what kind of feedback is needed in various social situations. 

We will also practice initiating conversations and learning what questions are appropriate to ask in scenarios at school or home. These are key skills in learning to make and keeping friends, and it is best that students learn and practice them at a young age so they can nurture meaningful relationships over time. 

Topics will be covered each week by playing interactive games with each other using boom cards. Boom cards are similar to PowerPoint slides but are much more engaging and are structures in a game format. Students will each have an opportunity to give input for a correct selection and discuss why their answer would be the right choice. We will also discuss how our choices might make others feel. This element of empathy is another key component to excelling in social situations.
