In this class, students will be introduced to the folklore and mythology of fairies and faeries. We will cover the following topics:
- What is the difference between a fairy and a faerie?
- What are some of the earliest stories about these mythical creatures?
- What cultures have fairy/faerie folklore?
- What other names are fairies/faeries known by?
- *What poetry, literature, and movies feature or are inspired by fairies/faeries?

- Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen 
- Grimm Brothers Fairy Tales
- Fairy Tales of Charles Perrault
- William Shakespeare 
- Edmund Spenser
- J.M. Barrie
- J.R.R. Tolkien
- Walt Disney
- Flower Fairies
- Poetry of the Romanticism Era

I will open the class by asking students to share any knowledge they already have about fairies/faeries. I will share slides to enhance the learning experience. There will be some lecture time, but I will also offer ample time for discussion. I encourage student input and interaction.
