Class experience
The course is an introduction to nutrition guidelines and topics. The course will introduce what macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, water, fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) are and how they work in the body to both promote health or hinder health. Students will understand how nutrition impacts their health and how to make informed dietary decisions.
I have a PhD in Public Health and I am a Registered Dietitian. I have been teaching nutrition to college students and vulnerable populations for 7 years.
Homework Offered
Assignments will be given to test student knowledge and understanding of concepts introduced. Assignments are not intended to be overly time consuming, but rather a fun way to test their learning. Assignments are listed in the course description area. Assignments include quizzes, discussions, and mini projects.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will provided feedback on mini projects. I will interact and further conversation on discussions. I will provide grades on quizzes.Grades Offered
