⭐︎Leveled Books for Beginner Chinese Learners

Differ from regular Chinese picture books, leveled books help young language learners grow confidence in reading with visually   appealing illustrations to help children decode, larger font, simple sentence structures, high frequency words and repetition to teach children to read and speak even before they realize it. All books included in this course are written and illustrated by Ms.Han to ensure the highest quality. Please watch the course intro video for a preview of the books. 

⭐︎Flexible Schedule at Learners’ Own Pace:

No need to move around your schedule to make it to a live class! No need to stop learning when you are on vacation! Flex course offers great flexibility to learners and families! 

⭐︎Great Supplement to Any Existing Live Chinese Classes: 

This course offers relatable and common topics in Chinese. Use this course as an review or try a new approach to expand learners’ experience. 

★How Does it Work

Each week students will receive one pre-recorded video lesson focusing on one leveled book. The video includes: read aloud, vocabulary study, sentences study and interactive games for students to practice what they learn. At the end of the 6-week course, students will receive a PDF version of all 6 books with audio files to continue their practice of Chinese. 

Here is a breakdown of the teacher and student responsibility: 

- Teacher Will: Post the recorded lesson for the week.

- Student Will:
Repeat after the teacher during the read aloud.
Repeat after the teacher during the vocabulary and sentences practice.
Practice speaking Chinese during the interactive games to review the lessons. 
Make a recording (video or audio) to answer 1-3 homework questions.

- Teacher Will: Provide feedback to learner’s post

- Student Will (Optional): Respond to other students’ posts if there are any

★Leveled Book Topics and Language Focus:

⭐︎Week 1 --- “The Book of Numbers”. Understand the questions: "What's your name?" and "How old are you?"; Learn to count from 1-10 to provide proper answers in Chinese; Play a quick number pattern game to practice vocabulary. Extra challenge: Learn to count from 1-50!

⭐︎Week 2 --- “The Book of Colors”. Understand the question"What is your favorite color?" and learn color related vocabulary to provide proper answers in Chinese; Play a quick color pattern game to practice vocabulary. 

⭐︎Week 3 --- “The Book of Food”. Understand the question "What do you like/not like to eat?" and learn food related vocabulary to provide proper answers in Chinese. Make one virtual dish to practice vocabulary. 

⭐︎Week 4 --- “The Family Book”. Understand the question "Who is in your family?" and learn family related vocabulary to provide proper answers in Chinese;Play a "Guess Who is Missing" game to practice vocabulary.  

⭐︎Week 5 --- “The Book of Pets”. Learn about pet animals related vocabulary to talk about pets in Chinese. Play an animal  guessing game to practice vocabulary.

⭐︎Week 6 --- “Activities and Hobbies”. Understand the question "What is your favorite activity?" and learn sports related vocabulary to provide proper answers in Chinese; Students practice asking and answering questions to practice vocabulary.
