Students will learn flower parts and vocabulary; petal, sepal, pistil, anther, stamen, stigma, style, stem, pollen, pollination, nectar, seeds and angiosperm. Students will label flower parts; petal, sepal, anther, stamen and pistil.
I taught science solely for 3 years and made science a focus during all the years of my public school teaching.
If able, please bring at least one flower to class. Bigger flowers with visible parts are preferable. Lilies are a great choice. Also bring the print out, scissors, tape, glue and a paper or surface that won't hurt if it gets a little dirty. If for some reason you are not able to print out the handouts, students can label the parts on a plain sheet of paper with a pencil or other writing instrument. You may want to bring a magnifying glass if you have one.
