젊은 음악가를 위한 가을 음악 파티

In this fun and active music class, students will learn musical concepts while celebrating fall. 

We will explore rhythm and counting beats using rhythm syllables – Ta, Ti-ti, etc. Learners will be able to identify rhythm syllables and clap them with their hands. Learners will also make a simple musical instrument: a corn shaker. Supplies needed include an empty water bottle (8 oz preferred, but larger is fine), corn kernels (1/2 – 1 cup), ribbon or yarn in fall colors or color if you only have one color. Learners will assemble these in class and use them in some music activities. 

Activities and songs will help learners be aware of notes and improve their pitch-matching skills. Some Solfege principles will be incorporated. No prior knowledge is needed.

All my music classes have a lot of back of forth between myself and the singers. I model and have the singers imitate me. As singers gain confidence, I may call on them to do some things individually. I like to keep the activities moving from one thing to the next to keep singers engaged and learning.
