창의적 글쓰기 탐색: 스토리, 저널, 편지 등으로 자신감을 키우세요

Does your child love to explore new topics? Whether they enjoy writing or find it challenging, this class will spark creativity and build confidence! Each week, we’ll embark on a new creative writing adventure, helping young writers develop and improve essential writing skills in a fun and supportive environment.

This class follows a rotating schedule, covering 10 types of writing—one each week. Once we complete the full cycle, we’ll start again with fresh topics that spark creativity, giving students new ways to explore and refine their writing skills!

Each class session will begin with an introduction to the week’s writing genre and a discussion of its key components, followed by a modeled example. As soon as the topic has been explained, the students will brainstorm their ideas, discuss them, and begin drafting their own work.  As they write independently, I will provide guidance and support.  We will end each class by sharing our progress, whether that is a finished product or a work in progress, thereby fostering confidence and creativity in every writer. I invite all students to email me a photo or screenshot of their finished masterpiece. I’d love to review it and provide helpful feedback!

Students will learn how to organize their thoughts, develop ideas, and express themselves clearly and creatively while receiving as much or as little step-by-step guidance as they need. Join us and watch your child develop a newfound enthusiasm for writing! 

This flexible, ongoing class allows learners to drop in whenever they’d like. Each session introduces new, creative topics, so there’s always something exciting to write about. Since the skills don’t build on one another, you’re welcome to join as often or as infrequently as you’d like. I hope you join us!

✏️Journaling - personal reflections in response to a given prompt
✏️Narrative - tells a fictional story with a clear beginning, middle, and end 
✏️Recipe - set of instructions and ingredients to create a specific food or drink (these can be made up!) 
✏️Opinion - expresses the author’s thoughts, feelings, and/or beliefs about a certain topic, supported by reasons
✏️Friendly Letter - written to a friend or family member to keep in touch
✏️Review - provides feedback/evaluation along with a possible recommendation
✏️Personal Narrative - author tells a story from their own life, including personal experiences, memories, and feelings
✏️Descriptive - describes a person, place, thing, scene, etc using enough detail that readers are able to form a picture in their mind
✏️How-To - describes the specific steps to complete a task from start to finish
✏️Persuasive - author attempts to convince the reader to agree with their point of view based on their reasons
