그림 그리기 레벨 2에 대해 알아야 할 모든 것

In LEVEL 1 of my Everything You Need to Know About Drawing class, we practised breaking things down into simple shapes and learned how to use shading and mark-making to create tone and texture on our drawings. 

Now learners get to bring those skills forward to LEVEL 2, improving their technique and developing shading approaches using hatching and cross-hatching.  Subject matter will be varied, with just the right amount of challenge for my learners at this stage, with a mix of drawing from observation and occasionally from imagination (for Invention Challenges).

Learners for this class should have already completed all Level 1 classes with me in order to enable them to focus and work at a quicker pace. They are free to experiment with different materials such as pens, coloured pens or charcoal. As with Level 1, it's important to realise that the value of this class is in the regular PRACTISING - not necessarily in the final drawing. Some of the time we may not finish the drawing in the class time but I will do my best to include some "freestyle time" whenever possible so learners can be creative with their work!

Using a second camera showing my live demonstration as we draw, I will explain my thought process as I work. Sometimes we will us one of my drawings as a reference, sometimes a black and white photo and sometimes we will draw from life. I like to give Level 2 learners a variety of challenges including those designed to stretch their imaginations as well as develop their drawing abilities. Students will be able to ask questions and follow along with me while I give encouraging feedback and tips for progressing further. 

During my classes, there are lots of opportunities for English conversation while learners complete each step of the drawing. I have a friendly, chatty style of teaching and for this reason I encourage learners to unmute and engage with me and each other. 

Learners will need a supply of paper, a pencil (I recommend a 2B pencil),  an eraser, pencil sharpener and some q-tips/cotton buds for blending, as well as anything else they would like to try - charcoal, pens, coloured pencils etc.
