 Week 1
Lesson 1
Introduction & Nouns
Learners will be introduced to the class and learn about nouns. Instruction will focus on proper, common, singular, plural, concrete, and abstract nouns.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Verbs
Learners will learn the difference between action, linking, and helping verbs.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Adjectives
Learners will learn that adjectives answer the questions "What kind?," "How many?," "Which one?," and "Whose?."
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Adverbs
Learners will learn that adverbs answer the questions of "How?," "When?," "Where?," and "How often?" about a verb.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Pronouns
Learners will learn that pronouns take the place of a noun.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Conjunctions
Learners will learn 7 different conjunctions (for, an, nor, but, or, yet, so) and how they are used.

Lesson 7
Prepositions
Learners will learn that prepositions show the relation of one word to another as they describe time, direction, location, and relationship.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Interjections & Review
Learners will learn that interjections show emotion. Learners will also create a notebook page that shows all 8 parts of speech.

Details: Learners will be provided with links to Blooket, Kahoot, and Nearpod games that continue to practice skills.
Assessment

Details: Learners will be provided with a Kahoot game to assess their knowledge. Learners will have the opportunity to use the game as a grade.

Frequency: included
Details: Optional grades will be offered through Kahoot. Learners who wish to receive a grade, must indicate on the assessment post. Grades will be posted on Friday.
