This class explores heat energy. Students also delve into temperature, thermal energy and thermal equilibrium, and the 3 methods of heat transfer. The class stands out by incorporating hands-on investigations and real-world case studies to illustrate these energies. 

Through interactive activities and labs, students will develop a deeper understanding of heat energy.

This course is structured with lecture notes followed by activities relevant to the notes that have students recall knowledge, then apply knowledge, then create something to show their knowledge. 

Each day, students will move through a few engaging activities relevant to the day's topics. Students will interact via online lecture notes, games, activities, labs, and videos.

My teaching style is engaging, student-centered, and interactive, focused on creating meaningful connections between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. I emphasize hands-on learning through activities and labs that encourage critical thinking and active participation. I accommodate diverse learning styles, fostering an inclusive environment where students feel supported in exploring complex topics.

For the temperature lab, Students will need: 3 beakers, hot water, hot plate, room temperature water, cold water, ice.
For the making a thermometer lab, Students will need: clear straw, ruler, marker, small beaker, large beaker, red food dyed rubbing alcohol, modeling clay, pipette, ice water.
For the thermal equilibrium lab, Students will need: 400 mL beaker, 200 mL beaker, graduated cylinder, 50 mL of ice water, 50 mL of hot water, temperature probes or thermometers.
For the popping popcorn lab, Students will need: popcorn kernels, plastic bowl, air popper, microwave, stovetop and jiffy pop (in replace of the crazy stir whirly).
For the insulators and conductors lab, Students will need: 7 soda can drinks (all the same), cooled in a refrigerator overnight, 1 roll Paper Towel, 1 roll Aluminum Foil, 1 roll Plastic Wrap, 1 Wool Sock, 1 Cotton Sock/Cloth, 1 roll Bubble wrap, 7 Digital Thermometers, Heat lamp, metal spoon, plastic spoon, 2 ice cubes, timer.
For the save the penguins lab, Students will need: ice cube, heat lamp, electronic scale, anything they can use as an insulator (socks, bubble wrap, cotton balls, etc.).
