These one on one sessions will be tailored to student needs, closing gaps or accelerating learning levels within mathematics. Each session will employ interactive activities, virtual manipulatives, games, puzzles, and direct instruction. We will move from concrete to abstract, using a variety of strategies and applications to make math real to students. Students will be "met where they are" and learn to self-assess and use what works for them. Learning outcomes will be determined after the initial meeting with the student and parent so that they focus on each child's specific needs.
I served as a public school educator for over 26 years. During that time, I specialized in science, math, and STEM engineering design, including coding and robotics through after school programs. After leaving the classroom, I was a science and math instructional coach in the largest school district in my state, working to help teachers improve academic achievement in science and math with their students.
