Welcome to Elementary Consonant Letter Blends: Interactive Learning With Friends (Ages 4-7)!

In this class...

⭐️ Students will start off by practicing consonant sounds by identifying pictures that start with that consonant. Once this has been achieved, the student will participate in an interactive activity to “blend” the two letters together, creating a new sound! 

⭐️ We will write, speak, and visually see pictures of the words and how they are spelled. By taking a multi-sensory approach, this helps students retain the information!

⭐️ Students will be given remote access to control the screen where they are able to reveal letters and pictures to help practice our phonics of the week! - Parents may need to offer assistance with this. 

⭐️ At the end of class, if time allows, the teacher will lead an interactive game where we will strengthen our blends knowledge through repeated exposure and fun! 

Our weekly schedule for this course will be in the following format to allow students to practice producing a variety of consonant blends.

🌱 Week of 12/17- sm, th - smores, smelly, smoothie / thief, throne, thumbs
🌱 Week of 12/25 - cr, tr - crab, crocodile, crumbs / train, trophy, trumpet
🌱 Week of 1/1 - sc, cl - scooter, scary, school / clown, cliff, clothes
🌱 Week of 1/8 - ch, wh - cheese, chess, chalk / whistle, wheat, white

Curriculum repeats back to the beginning

⭐️ Repetition, repetition, repetition through exposure and play will allow your learner to practice those hard-to-make blend sounds and improve their reading fluency skills! 

⭐️ Prior to enrollment, students should be able to identify letters and their sounds.
