수업 소개

Are you ready for an amazing art adventure? Let's journey into the past where we can learn about incredible works of made throughout the centuries! Afterwards, we will return to our studio where we can create wonderful works of art inspired by our explorations! Let's discover together how exciting art history can be through making!

In this ongoing course, taught by experienced and certified educator and artist, Amy Pollman (MED), learners will create imaginative works of art inspired journeys through time. Techniques of drawing, collage, painting, sculpting and paper folding will be utilized and facilitated through the context of art history and culture from around the world.

Learners will learn a new weekly concept taught by Ms. Amy in demonstration and also referenced through a brief PowerPoint/video which will bring the featured content to life. Learners are encouraged to be interpretive with the projects as they are assigned. Students will have the opportunity to begin their projects and complete them after class if necessary. Students are encouraged to bring completed works to share and post them in the classroom as a virtual art gallery.

My teaching style playful yet informed. I keep the students motivated and inspired in a collaborative, interpretive friendly, inclusive and culture conscience classroom. Classes will always have the theme introduced in the beginning, learners will participate in a short demo and then they will have a good portion of the class to create.

Each week the students will get a supply list that they will need to bring to class. It is important that the students come with the supplies they need for each project so class may operate in a timely manner. Course supplies are listed in the supply list below.

We will be discussing cultures from around the world and history. Sometimes this involves discussions of particular cultures' relationships to life, death and the afterlife. I do my best to be as inclusive as possible and to represent the art in an age appropriate way. I insist on mutual respect to all members who participate in (student to teacher and student to student) the class.
