During this weekly, ongoing class students will draw super cute Squishmallows, Pusheen Cats and other cute, age appropriate cartoons like pugs, sloths, and anthropomorphic foods. Students are encouraged to talk and ask questions and get to know each other while drawing. At the end of the class will be a few minutes where students can share their work with each other- but if they don't feel like sharing...
I am a professional illustrator who has also been teaching in-person youth drawing and cartooning classes for the past 10 years, and online classes for the past 2 years. I have experience ranging from teaching art programs to preschoolers to teaching cartooning to elementary aged students, to anime with high school students. I am particularly fond of working with kids on the autism spectrum and with ADHD and dyslexia, as I find doing art together to be a great way to connect.
Paper or sketchbook Pencil Eraser Black inking pen (like a sharpie or black fine-liner) something to color with: crayons, markers or colored pencils.
Nothing in this class will be scary or violent- we will draw very cute characters that are age appropriate. We may draw characters around Halloween such as pumpkins or cats or ghosts- if you don't want your child participating that week then I totally understand.
