그리기와 쓰기(섹션 1): 플렉스 클래스

In this fun course, students will practice both their drawing and writing skills as they learn to draw 4 different animals and write about them. Students will receive step by step directions for drawing an alligator, a koala, a zebra, and an elephant. Then students will create a short writing assignment for each. This flex course allows students to work on their own pace while providing cross curricular activities, student to student interaction, and teacher to student feedback. 
 
Each Monday, I will post the drawing directions and video. I will be available for feedback and questions via the classroom page and email. 

This class will be structured as follows:

Week 1: Students will receive the instructions for the alligator. This week will be a mini research writing project. Using the computer, each student will be assigned one thing to look up about alligators (food, habitat, types, etc.). Each student will respond and these answers will be compiled into a research sheet. Students will take the facts and record them onto an animal research sheet. This research project should be posted to the classroom page along with their drawing. Students should draw the alligator and then color it.
Week 2: Students will receive the instructions for the koala. They will be able to practice this and then create a picture using their drawing. This will be posted in the classroom page. Students will also receive the writing assignments. They will apply the research guide from the previous week to create a two paragraph research paper about koalas. This should be posted to the classroom page for a “peer edit”. Each student will be assigned another student to edit. They will make one positive comment and one corrective comment.
Week 3: Students will receive the instructions for drawing a zebra along with the weekly writing assignment. This week students will write a short story titled “The Zebra Escaped the Zoo!” They will share their story on the classroom page. They will comment on at least 1 other student’s story.
Week 4: Students will receive the instructions for drawing an elephant and the weekly writing assignment. This week will be a persuasive paragraph. Students will write 1-2 paragraphs telling  “Why Elephants are / are not better than __.” Students will then post their paragraph to the classroom page. They will then respond to another student.
