주당 1-2시간. The student will be assigned a worksheet page to help organize information over plant adaptations. This worksheet has a second part that asks questions over the function of certain carnivorous plants. The total time for this assignment is usually 15-20 minutes. The student will also be assigned a nature journal activity where they can work alongside my video. This activity will vary in length because some students will prefer to be extremely detailed and take a long time and some will make their creation faster. If you thought venus flytraps were the only carnivorous plant out there, get ready to have your mind blown! In this class we discover FIVE carnivorous plants and the wacky ways they have adapted to their various environments! This class is taught through pre-recorded videos of myself, so students can access them at any time! The class is organized into the following steps: - WATCH: Teacher Kara shows her collection of carnivorous plants and goes through notes with the student. This will cover venus flytraps, butterworts, pitcher plants, bladderworts, and sundews! A graphic organizer page is provided for the student. - ORGANIZE: Students are given a 2-page worksheet made by Teacher Kara that helps them to organize information over the carnivorous plants and their adaptations. An answer key will be attached. Students will complete the worksheet first and then check their answers! - WATCH & CREATE: Students will work alongside Teacher Kara (in a video) to create a beautiful nature journal page that incorporates everything they learned! A cutout page full of drawings is provided or students can choose to draw them on their own. - SHARE & CONNECT (optional): Students can message their beautiful creations to Teacher Kara on Outschool! A response will come in video form to congratulate the student and encourage them for future science learning!

Some learners may require help with cutting out the various plant drawings for their nature journal page. Please make sure proper safety is taken.

At the end of this class, the student will create a nature journal page. This can be in an actual notebook, a separate sheet of paper, or on a digital drawing program. The student will have access to a page that can be printed out or uploaded to a device of their choosing. Materials they may need: - Scissors - Glue - Coloring materials like colored pencils, markers, paints, etc. - Pen or pencil - iPad or computer (only for digital download) - Art programs like Procreate, Krita, etc. (only for digital download) - Other art materials of their choosing!
