* This class is appropriate for ages 5-18 I have taught many classes with a mix of youngsters and teenagers and never had a problem, however the most popular age group is between 5 - 14 **Unless there is an emergency I do not mind teaching a class with only 1 student in it. I am a U.S. military veteran, former firefighter/first responder, and have been an outdoorsman and survival enthusiast for over 25 years. I have also been in several unfortunate scenarios where I have had to use my survival skills to stay safe and alive, such as experiencing hypothermia, heatstroke, encountering dangerous animals, and sustaining serious injuries. My training and experience includes: -U.S. Coast Guard. During my time serving, I participated in many federal law enforcement and search and rescue missions, and was part of a hurricane response team in South Florida. -I was a Firefighter/First Responder for 10 years. -I have taught basic first aid, and emergency preparedness to many children, and adults. -I have had a great deal of training in urban & wilderness survival, survival psychology, critical incident peer support, emergency management, and disaster preparedness. -I have also been on many wonderful outdoor adventures and had the unique privilege of mentoring under other fellow veterans which include: special operations servicemen, military medics/ corpsman, and combat survival instructors.
No gory or violent pictures will be shown, and I present it in an educational manner that is not "scary". However we are talking about survival, which is how to NOT die from a dangerous animals.
