Homework
1 hour per week. Complete independent practice of class projects on a daily basis if need be. Art making has no set time limit when the right-brain and imagination is ignited. In other words, any homework will simply be to enjoy additional time for the creative process beyond our 60-minute allotted meeting time each class meeting together online. Optional: To observe color in our natural world, the world around found in the garden, the park, the neighborhood and other natural spaces and be able to identify color varieties and discuss back in class. Additional optional art activity: sketching outdoors while observing natural elements rich with color, i.e. flowers, trees, the sky etc.
Assessment
Learner progress will be accessed in a formative way by sharing work in progress with the teacher each class meeting.

Join me for a personalized and fun 1-on-1 art class that covers a wide range of artistic mediums, including drawing (using pencils, markers, and pastels) and painting (acrylic, tempera, and watercolors). I also offer various design ideas and projects to choose from.

In my studio, I welcome all aspiring artists to a calm and friendly setting. Here, your artistic journey will be celebrated as you explore and experiment with your creativity.

I am excited to work/play with you, and we will create a personalized lesson plan based on the selection of lessons I already have available. I am also open to exploring topics that you are passionate about, allowing us to craft lessons that cater to your specific interests.

During our studio time, I'll provide you with ideas, inspiration, and guided instruction. While it's not an open studio, I will present an overview of the project and provide step-by-step guidance. You are also encouraged to experiment and explore beyond my instructions to make your piece uniquely yours. I always use an additional camera so you can see each step as I create alongside you. The final result will be entirely up to you as an individual artist, I will serve as your guide throughout the creative process.

Class Topic options include but are not limited to:

-Nature themed landscapes
-Animal drawings
-Watercolor painting using various techniques
-Process art projects such as monoprints and mixed media
-Abstract designs

Before our first meeting, we will collaborate to set up a lesson plan that aligns with your goals and preferences. I look forward to embarking on this artistic journey with you!

You will learn an array of art making skills that they can build on as a lifelong learning journey. This is an appropriate foundations art class for beginners and artists of all levels.

A few of the wonderful benefits of a regular art practice:

• Helps us connect to their feelings.
• Gets us expressing without the mind interfering with thoughts like, “I can’t draw.”
• Heightens intuitive awareness.
• Gives us confidence to do art at home anytime.
• Helps us to experiment with different media with out fearing they will make a mistake or do it wrong.
• Encourages spontaneity getting out of our heads, into our hearts.

All good outcomes and pathways to health, creative expression and so much fun!

I am offering this class because I love art making, and have an art studio in my home where I make art big and small, almost every day. My own unique style of art making incorporates mixed media, it's awesome. I love creating something beautiful that didn’t exist ever before! I have been making art since I was three-years old and grew up in a home environment where creativity was a way of life.

I’ve always been creative and interested in colors, textures, textiles, fashion design and traveling the globe appreciating diverse cultures. I am inspired by nature, the cosmos and color most of all! To me, making art, expressing myself creatively and teaching others to do that, are as natural as breathing. Kids of all ages love my inspired, relaxed and energetic style of teaching art. I have been teaching art in formal settings for over 20 years.

I look forward to having the opportunity to meet and create art together.
