Students will learn the basic strokes of undercurve, downcurve, overcurve, and slant. These all have a certain shape, size, and spacing. Week 1- students will learn and practice the starts of letters, how to sit and place paper, grip of pencil, as well the lowercase undercurve i,t,u,w,e,l,b,h,f,k,r,s,j,p and downcurve a,d,g,o,c,q letters . Week 2- Next will be the lowercase overcurve n,m,y,x,v,z letters, review of all lowercase letters, and the uppercase downcurve A, O D, C, E letters Week...
The students will be able to write the cursive letters of the alphabet and read them as well.
I have taught third grade for over 8 years in which cursive is part of the curriculum. Students love being able to read words in cursive and write fluently when knowing the whole alphabet. It's like a secret code!
Pencil and sharpener If you are unable to purchase handwriting paper, I can email a pdf of a the print paper that can be used to print out. In addition, if a child has a challenge with his or her grip, grips can be recommended. Other optional tools... sand, shaving cream, highlighter for practice between classes
