수업 소개
During our time together we will we will share our love for unicorns as we learn how to make paper mache and different tips for working with it. Your child will follow step by step directions to make their own unique paper mache unicorn during our time together and add their own flare when decorating it at the end. Please be sure to look at the daily supplies needed for your child to be prepared and ready to work each day. On Day 1 We will make paper mache and add strips of paper and the mixture to a balloon to make the unicorn. On Day 2 We will paint the base coat and work on a unicorn horn so that it is ready to attach on day 3. On Day 3 We will paint the details for the unicorn’s face, use hot glue to add a mane or fake flowers, etc., and share our final projects with each other. This will be a "safe" space for students to add their own creative touches to the crafts we will make and share their knowledge of unicorns and ideas with each other in fun conversations centered around unicorns. Students will practice social skills as they share (when they feel comfortable) and ask and answer questions from other group members. Students will be encouraged to show off their accomplishments on their creations at the end of each class. Please note that this can be messy and the student should have a safe place to work in and wear appropriate clothes for the tasks. Please be sure to have the supplies listed before each class.

Children may need a little parent support or supervision when using hot glue, permanent markers, paints, and cleaning up/storing paints properly. Students should be working in a well-ventilated area. Parents may want to blow up and tie the balloon ahead of time for those who cannot do so on their own. Younger students may need additional parent support when making the paper mache paste and starting to place the paper mache on the balloon.
