수업 소개

레벨 Beginner - Intermediate
Learning cursive is a great workout for the brain! Studies show that writing in cursive activates different parts of the brain compared to writing in print or typing. Plus, cursive helps with fine motor skills and makes it easier for readers to understand letter combinations.

In this class, students will learn how to write lowercase letters in cursive using the Cursive Handwriting. This style has a slight slant to the right, helping young writers form smooth, flowing letters. We’ll start each lesson by practicing the joining strokes that connect letters together, then move on to specific letters. Through practice, students will build a rhythmic, continuous style, leading to neat, legible handwriting!

This class is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants extra cursive practice. Each week, we’ll focus on a group of letters, learning both individual letters and simple words. Students can share their progress, cheer on classmates, and learn techniques like holding the pencil correctly and sitting with good posture.

Every lesson stands alone, so students can join anytime! The goal is not perfection but improvement—step by step. By learning similar letters together, cursive becomes more fun and meaningful. We can’t wait to help students proudly say, “Look what I wrote in cursive!”

About me:

Hello! I’m an experienced and passionate English teacher with a proven track record of teaching in UK schools, Asian classrooms, and ESL programs worldwide. Coming from a mixed-race, multicultural background, I deeply understand the importance of embracing diversity and creating inclusive learning environments. This perspective shapes my teaching style, making my lessons both culturally rich and accessible to students from all walks of life.

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe every student is unique, and my teaching style reflects this. I create student-centered lessons where learners feel empowered to explore, ask questions, and engage actively. Whether teaching in a UK classroom or guiding ESL students in Asia, I adapt my approach to ensure inclusivity and success for all.

My Teaching Style:

Interactive and Engaging Lessons:

I use games, storytelling, and technology to make learning fun and memorable. From interactive apps like Kahoot and Quizlet to hands-on activities, I ensure my students enjoy their learning journey while achieving measurable progress.

Focus on Communication:

For me, language is about connection. Whether preparing students for Cambridge exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers, PET, KET) or day-to-day conversations, I balance grammar instruction with practical communication skills.

Culturally Responsive Teaching:

Growing up in a multicultural environment, I bring cultural relevance into the classroom, celebrating diversity and helping students see language as a tool for exploring the world.

Blended Learning:

I combine traditional teaching methods with modern tools to create dynamic lessons. Whether through phonics for young learners or advanced grammar for older students, I ensure every lesson is engaging and impactful.

Differentiation for All Abilities:

I tailor lessons to suit mixed-ability classes, providing scaffolding for struggling learners and challenging tasks for advanced students.

Experience and Expertise:

In UK Schools:

I have extensive experience teaching KS1 to KS4 learners, focusing on literacy, creative writing, and comprehension. I also support EAL (English as an Additional Language) students, helping them integrate and succeed academically.

In Asian Classrooms:

My time teaching in Asia has taught me how to bridge the gap between rote learning and critical thinking. I encourage students to express themselves creatively while respecting their learning culture.

As an ESL Teacher:

Teaching English as a Second Language is my passion. I specialize in preparing students for Cambridge English exams and designing lessons that make learning practical, fun, and confidence-boosting.

What Makes My Classroom Special:

A welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where students feel safe to take risks and learn from mistakes.
Regular feedback and encouragement to build confidence and track progress.
Lessons packed with visual aids, games, storytelling, and relatable examples to make language come alive.
Why I Love Teaching:
Helping students discover the power of language is incredibly rewarding. My multicultural background inspires me to connect with students from different cultures and help them find their voice. Whether it’s a shy beginner gaining confidence in speaking or an advanced student mastering a complex concept, I take pride in being part of their journey. I love sparking curiosity, encouraging critical thinking, and creating lessons that inspire students to learn and grow.
