"There is no greater joy in life, than the joy of creating something." Abhay Kumar In this class, we will learn the basics of using a Cricut machine. We will start out with how to make a card, and build from there. It is my hope that students will decide on the content as we progress through this class. Students will need access to a Cricut machine, a printer, and basic Cricut tools, like a scoring tool. April 4 - Making a card - Supplies needed: cardstock, Cricut pens, scoring tool, glue, or double sided tape. April 11 - Making stickers -Sticker paper, printer April 18 - Making a vinyl design April 25 - Working with adhesive vinyl May 2 - Making paper flowers May 9- Working with iron on vinyl I will add an Amazon list with suggested materials for the class.

This class will require the use of a Cricut Machine, Cricut Design Space application, scissors, and a weeding tool.
If students want to work on making shirts, they will need to have parental supervision to use either Cricut Heat Press or iron.

The link is a list of recommended materials to start with if you plan on taking the class as an ongoing class. These are not required to be exactly like what I have on the list. I know some of the supplies can be found at the dollar tree. I cannot vouch for their vinyl as I have never used it. I did but some of their tools and they worked perfectly. When I was in high school, I had an opportunity to internship at an elementary school and from that moment I fell in love with education. I went on to get my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and have been teaching ever since. I started out in the regular elementary classroom and then had opportunities to teach Spanish, Reading and English as a Second Language.
I love helping children grow as learners. It gives me great joy to see them learn and achieve their goals. There is nothing better than working with a struggling reader and hearing them say "I can read this!" I believe that children learn best when they are having fun, and feel safe. It is my goal to make each child feel this way. I want them to know that they matter to me.
I was born in Venezuela and moved to the states at the age of 10. This has helped me connect with my ESL students in the past because I understand what they are going through. In Venezuela they speak Spanish, which is why I feel comfortable teaching Spanish to young learners. I have 3 kids and I decided to work from home so that I could enjoy as much of my time with them as possible. Time flies and I want to continue working in education and encouraging children to find a love of learning.리뷰
