By the end of the course, each student will design a captivating map that reflects their imagination. Topics Covered: - Sign-up to Inkarnate and take a brief tour - Drawing your land - Creating rivers and lakes - Using stamps - Painting textures - Titles and layers - Final challenge Class Structure: The course will be delivered using Nearpod, allowing for interactive and supportive learning. With over 30 years of experience supporting children with additional needs, I’ve found Inkarnate to be a fantastic tool for creative expression. It helps children visualize their ideas and boosts their confidence in a fun, engaging way.

In this class, we will use Inkarnate, an online map-making tool that allows students to create and tell stories. This tool features fantasy themes, such as mythical creatures and magical landscapes, but contains no explicit content. Inkarnate is intended for users aged 13 and older, and when students create a free account, they will be asked to confirm their age. If they are under 13, parental consent will be required for them to use the platform. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

As long as the student feels comfortable navigating a website and using a mouse/trackpad, they'll be able to quickly grasp the basics of Inkarnate.
