In this fun and instructional one-time course students will learn about chord progressions, melody, and rhythm in order to craft their own original songs on guitar! The perfect class for creative teens to elevate their guitar and songwriting skills.

Chords:
One of the three fundamental building blocks of songwriting. Learners will be instructed on the definition of chords and how to play them. 

Melody:
Learners will understand the definition of melody, how to drape them over chord progressions and how they can be original in crafting their own. 

Rhythm: Learners will experience the groove of playing guitar with basic strumming patterns to support the rhythm of their original songs. They'll get a feeling for the role that a guitar can play in driving the beat of a song. 

Theme: Learners will also be taught the value of assigning an overarching emotional motif or theme to their original composition to further ground it in reality while imparting authentic meaning. Some example themes are friendship, tenacity, betrayal, heroism, and innate potential. 


✨ My teaching philosophy is simple; a blend of strong pedagogical music theory fundamentals paired with an acute intuition of the interplay between emotion and music. Due to this, my philosophy best revolves around my students learning guitar using the songs they love as a compass to musical competence. I really love connecting with my learners and crafting my lessons around their unique needs by helping them feel safe and comfortable first and foremost. I believe in gifting learners with the tools to step into their confidence through expressing their hearts with music.
