젊은 작가 만들기: 4학년 5학년 6학년 작문 문법 철자 음성학 클럽

This class will focus on one topic each week designed to strengthen writing skills, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Each week is a stand alone topic and the class is set up so that you can take a few classes or the entire series. This class does take the place of entire curriculum so if the entire series is taken the student will have completed all standards for this grade level. This is great for homeschoolers looking for a full curriculum in writing, grammar, spelling, and phonics. 

Students will learn that good writing starts with good ideas. A good idea is clear, interesting, and original. 

Students will learn to choose words that best convey their ideas. Choosing the correct words helps your reader “see” what you are talking about. 

Students will also learn to organize their words/topics so that the reader and follow and understand their ideas. Organization can help writing have a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. 

Students will learn sentence fluency. They will learn to make their writing flow by using different kinds of sentences. 

Students will learn voice. Their personality and who they are should shine through in their writing. 

Each week students will complete a 1st, 2nd, and Final draft. Student will submit writing for corrections and revise as needed.  Work will be completed in class. There may be some situations where students may need to complete assignments that are not completed in class, outside of class. Majority of work will be completed in class.

10 mins - Convection Work (grammar, spelling, punctuation)

 15 mins Mini Writing exercise (Based on weekly topic)

25 mins Writers Workshop (creating and editing weekly writing sample)

5 mins Closing/ Questions
