* Please note, this class has pre-recorded lessons. There are no live meetings. This is a great class for busy parents and students who need the flexibility to work on assignments.  This is similar to my live class, however this class goes into much more detail regarding the different countries on each continent. 

In this self-paced class students will learn about each of the 7 Continents and their surrounding Oceans.  We will explore what makes up a continent, the different sizes and environments, the famous landmarks and even some interesting laws from different countries!  And let’s not forget all of the different animals of each continent!  

We will explore the different oceans including their size, the sea animals, and everything that makes up the ocean habitat.  Students will also learn the difference between a sea and an ocean and what makes an ocean salty or not!    

Weeks 1-3 will consist of 2 continents (including their countries) and an Ocean, while Week 4 will consist of that final continent and 2 Oceans!  Each week will also include activities such as matching games, quizzes, discussion questions and short videos regarding various countries and ocean topics.  I will also share a popular song from YouTube that is known to help students remember the different continents! 

During the final week as we wrap up the 7 continents and 5 oceans, we will have a final quiz and fill-in-the-blank map to recap everything that they learned.  

We will be using Nearpod and BOOM learning cards in conjunction with Outschool as an interactive approach to making this a fun and great learning experience!  Each week, students will receive a Nearpod link that will include instructions, along with the games, videos and discussion questions.  I will provide parents with a detailed document to explain how both programs are used to ensure that your experience is as smooth as possible! 

Discussion questions will be posted on Sunday evening of each week along with a video in the classroom to ensure an interactive class.
