수업 소개

In this lesson, students will create a dog and cat chase game in Scratch, a coding platform developed by MIT, as a tool to teach basic computer science and coding concepts such as loop, conditional, motion, and sensing. The class  is design to teach logical thinking and inspire creativity, so your children are not only learning Scratch coding but also creating.

This is a beginner level lesson introducing learners to game development in Scratch. They will design a simple ‘Chase’ game in Scratch where a dog is chasing the cat around the house.

Through creating this game, the learner will use: 

Sound blocks
Movement blocks
Events blocks
Keyboard inputs
Touch sensors
Conditional statements
Loops

All my life, I have had a fascination and interest in computing and technology. I have always enjoyed keeping up-to-date with the latest advances in technology and have remained amazed at the speed of computerized developments over the past few years.

For as long as I can remember, I have been using computers at school and at home. When I connected my computer to the internet several years ago, I discovered another enthralling world for me to explore. Since then I have gained teaching experience with several applications, such as: desktop applications, web applications and mobile applications.

Presently, as a Computer Science and an Engineering teacher, I lead my students through creative design and problem-solving processes, guiding them to use programming in activities like building their own apps, websites, and video games.
