This class is an introduction to website creation and designing using the text based coding HTML. Learners will create a website towards the end of this class as they progress through the basic concepts and learn the fundamentals of html coding. They will also create a project for the day. Lesson 1 : Setting up - A brief on html and how to set up account on online editor / creating text editor Lesson 2 :Understanding lists - developing a biography website using the list Lesson 3 :CSS basics - styling the biography website created the previous day Lesson 4 : HTML tags - Using external links and tags to make a digital recipe book Lesson 5 : Advanced CSS styling - Styling your recipe book Lesson 6 :CSS Page Layout - Organising a page by colour coding and divisions Lesson 7 :Website Inspection for hosting Lesson 8: Add ons - creating blogs to the website Lesson 9 and 10 - Students create a website on any chosen topic and use all the formatting techniques discussed in previous lessons. They will get to display their website in class and the teacher will help in debugging if needed. Sample topics: My favourite sport/team Blog on a day in my life. Family Tree Places I want to visit This is an interactive class where students will code alongside the teacher and share their codes for verification and debugging. Students can use 2 devices and if they use 1 they should know how to switch screens between zoom and the online editor.

For learners below 13 years of age , please install VS code on the laptop : https://code.visualstudio.com/ , as Outschool does not allow Replit for young learners. . For learners over 13 years of age, we will be using an online editor where they need a free signup using their email id. The teacher will share her screen during the class.
