Join Ms. Moony for a fun celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival (known as Moon Festival) which will be on Sep 29th in 2023. We’ll listen to the legend about moon festival and explore what and why we have special traditions to celebrate this festival. Following up with a discussion, we’ll learn what the special food is and drink for this holiday and how to cook them. As you may know, food culture play important roles in Chinese culture. Finally, we will enjoy a beautiful song and historic poem for this holiday. We will play game to review what we’ve learned at the end of the class. This class is meant to be a social experience and could be very student-centered. There is no wrong way to participate and no previous experience or knowledge needed in this class. Learners are encouraged to talk about their thoughts and ideas about this holiday, I hope not only to nurture their curiosity about different culture, food, and customs, but also support them to explore and learn more for a long term. To be fun, relaxed and enjoyable and make some good memories are also important for all of us. I look forward to meeting you and your curious children in the class.

I have been living in Beijing, one of the most historic city in China for more than 30 years, and grew up in Hutong and kept all the customs generation by generation. I taught mandarin in Oklahoma for 2 years and voluntarily provided Chinese culture sharing club in the local public elementary school for 3 years.
