Welcome to "Chat, Laugh, and Learn!"  Learners can join in any week and jump right in!  

In this ongoing class, learners will have the chance to interact with peers through fun, guided conversation.  Each week will be different with new/different conversation prompts, silly stories, mysteries, and more! Some weeks will have extra time dedicated to show and tell, if we have a "mystery show and tell" day. The majority of each class will be spent engaging in the social aspect, silly conversation prompts, and laughter! However, each class will also include a special sound/spelling pattern, taught through a song, rap, rhyme, movement, or something else silly to help students retain what we've learned!  We will practice reading words and sentences with that special sound pattern, and each week, learners will be provided with a list of words that match what we learned in that class. Through exposure to reading words with the same sound patterns, students are then more likely to recall the spelling of one of those words later on, if ever used in their own writing. Most weeks, there will be reading activities posted in the classroom for practicing that specific spelling pattern in words, through reading short stories (some may be silly!). 

I LOVE teaching academics, but I've seen a need for more social time with several students in my classes (we just have too much fun!). I decided to create this class as the best of both worlds.  Come chat, laugh, and learn with me!

***I also offer this same class with math practice (instead of reading/writing), so your learner can join both to make this a 2x/week class!
