**Be sure your learner has the book before class begins. In this ongoing course, learners will all have the same chapter book with them: Judy Moody by Megan McDonald. They will read both out loud and independently. Learners will read one to three chapters each class. To build comprehension skills, the learners will discuss the events and sequence the events. They will discuss the characters, setting, as well as the problem and solution. Learners will make text to self connections as well as text to text connections and text to world connections to better develop comprehension skills.

Chapter 1: A Bad Mood
