수업 소개
This is a class where students can learn to describe themselves in Cantonese. I will teach basic Cantonese words about characteristics, colors, animals, etc and students will fill in a worksheet all about themselves. They will share what their name is, what their favorite color is, what their favorite animal is, etc. A worksheet will be provided before class. (If a printer is not available please bring a blank sheet of paper). In this class, students can interact and share their favorite things. This is a small class where students can better understand and absorb the materials. I believe children learn best when they are interacting and enjoying what they are doing. Your child can meet other children from all over the world and can have an experience they love. Let's have a wonderful time together while learning! *No prior Cantonese knowledge is required.

Hello, my name is Joanne. Nice to meet you!
I was born in Hong Kong but moved to Canada when I was six years old. Growing up, my family speaks to me in Cantonese so I'm bilingual in Cantonese and English. After graduating from the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Geography, I went back to Hong Kong to work. Working in Hong Kong for ten years has deepened my understanding of Chinese culture and language. I love both languages and use them daily with my family and friends.
I am now back in Canada and have been teaching children for over 10 years. I am a TESOL-certified online ESL teacher and currently teaching online ESL English and Cantonese to children in the US, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Korea from ages 4-13. I am also teaching Korean adults. I also have a ten-year-old son and we love to read, play in the park, and explore new places.
I believe you will learn more and be better at it when you are enjoying what you are doing. I love to make my students smile and laugh. I will use my bilingual skills and my experience with children to help each student to learn their best. My classes are fun, engaging, and educational.
