CLASS EXPERIENCE: The aim of this Latin course is to give young learners a taste of the Latin language by learning about the culture that spoke Latin, the Romans, learning Latin roots, and grammar. Learners will read Latin comics out-loud, with vocabulary help, to practice their Latin pronunciation and then translate the short sentences. I love Latin and the Greco-Roman world. I also have many years of experience teaching Latin to a range of ages and skills levels online and in a traditional classroom. I believe that learning should be a fun and engaging journey!

The text for this class is "Minimus: Starting Out in Latin" by Barbara Bell, published by Cambridge University Press. Each learner will need a copy of the book. The book can be purchased on Amazon for about $34. The text is sometimes referred to as the "Minimus Pupil's Book". In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses Nearpod. It is helpful for the Learner to have a "folder" to save the homework printouts and a notebook to make notes on additional material taught that is not in the Minimus Book.
