Projeckt 1065 is a masterpiece of blending a spy novel,  historical realistic fiction, deceit in order to gain insider's knowledge, necessary risks to save family, others, and oneself and incredible writing that weaves a classic story line told through the point of view of a teenager, a style that Alan Gratz has perfected in order to show the reader the change he / she can make in the world. The main character, MIchael, and his family from Belgium are spies- a secret Michael must keep while playing a crucial role in the plot in order to play the part of a Hitler Youth in order to gain critical knowledge, especially about Projekt 1065,  even though he clearly despises all Hitler and his youth programs stand for. Infiltrate, befriend, and sabotage are key to the plot of this edge-of-your seat novel that shows Mr. Gratz's perfection in building tension and suspense through cliffhangers, important themes, inner conflict along with conflict with Nazi party members and who can / cannot be trusted, historically realistic details, deep character motives,and characters that will come to  life for the reader with the voice and depth of what they are dealing with in order to reach their goals and search for survival.
