Focus on the unique and beautiful culture of Alaska in this theme based book club. All scheduled books are themed on surviving life in the environment of Alaska and the areas rich culture. Read Call of the Wild, Julie of the Wolves, Sweet Home Alaska, What Would My Cell Phone Do?, and Touching Spirit Bear. Each class includes active reading charts, anticipation and reaction discussion points, literary analysis, comprehension and circle talks, journaling and discussion prompts, quizzes and vocabulary, and an all about the author discover. Join this activity focused class where we go beyond the book, reading, responding, reflecting, and reaching to the deep and critical thinking.
