In this one-time, game-based class, we will review the sounds for the short vowels. Vowel sounds are so important in the English language, but hearing the differences among these vowels can be tricky for new readers and writers. Through games and interactive activities, we will practice listening to identify what letter is in a word and gain confidence writing these vowels. We will practice the appropriate mouth shape for each sound and play interactive games to identify which letters are...
Students will practice the use of short vowels in CVC words and have the ability to listen for and identify the short vowel sounds.
A handout will be provided prior to the session. Some cutting will be required before class begins (instructions will be included.)
