The Theory of Evolution is accepted by most scientists, but remains a theory because it cannot be fully proven. Evidence points to evolution being truth, but we can't go back or forward in time to see it happening. In this hour, the class will learn about the evidence of evolution having happened in the past, and happening currently. Examples used will be Galapagos finches, peppered moths, horses, dinosaurs/birds, vertebrate embryology, and some others. Humans will be mentioned briefly,...
Students will be able to explain the Theory of Evolution, and the difference between a theory and a scientific law. Students will be able to give and describe examples of evolution in process, and evidence of evolution in the past. Students will be able to explain what natural selection is and how it works.

All needed materials written materials will be provided, and should be printed out before class begins. The student will need one piece of colored construction-type paper, and at least two colors of beads (one a similar color to the paper) in order to participate in the activity.
