This course will help learners establish a foundation for understanding how the horse's body systems are structured, how they function and how this is important to the care of these amazing animals. During a once-weekly live discussion with PowerPoint slides, we will cover a body system/organs. We will relate that back to practical application in caring for our horses. I am a certified veterinary technician and have bred, raised, trained and shown horses for many years. I have a MEd from Colorado State University and I am now finishing up my second Master’s program and will have a Master of Veterinary Education (MVEd) from Lincoln Memorial University’s School of Veterinary Medicine by spring 2024. I have been teaching at local community colleges in veterinary Assistant Programs and a variety of Veterinary Science programs for grades 3-5, 6-8, and high school. I also teach at a private university in an equine studies program. Along with that, I am also a homeschool mom! At home, my family has 3 mini horses, 4 Nigerian dwarf goats, 9 chickens and 2 cats! I am absolutely passionate about sharing my experience and love for animals and Equine and veterinary sciences with others and look forward to helping your learner explore the possibilities! It is exciting to share my love for horses with the next generation of equestrians!
