In this course, we will continue to build on the foundation of basic Spanish. This is a flexible schedule class, so there are no live meetings. Week 1Lesson 1Present Tense ReviewStudents will conjugate present tense verbs including all of the irregulars. Students will read a passage and provide written responses.Week 2Lesson 2Shopping Vocabulary and the Present Progressive TenseStudents will use the present progressive tense to describe clothing and shopping situations.Week 3Lesson 3Childhood and the Imperfect TenseStudents will use the imperfect tense and vocabulary to describe their childhood.Week 4Lesson 4Preterite Tense and School VocabularyStudents will use the preterite tense and indirect object pronouns.Week 5Lesson 5Hospital Vocabulary and Irregular Preterite TenseStudents will describe accidents using the preterite tense.Week 6Lesson 6News/Weather and the Preterite vs ImperfectStudents will use the preterite or imperfect tenses depending on context. Students will describe the news and weather.
- Students will learn the imperfect tense.
- Students will distinguish between the preterite and imperfect tenses.
- Students will build on their Spanish vocabulary.
My journey with Spanish began when I was twelve years old. I fell in love with the language and continued to learn through High School. I have an Undergraduate and Master's degree in Spanish, and I have taught High School Spanish for over 6 years.
