We will discuss what the Parietal, Temporal, Occipital, and Frontal lobes of the brain do and why they are important. There will be a picture of Phineas Gage. He was a railroad worker in 1848 who was impaled in the face with a tamping iron, and survived. His story shows how amazing the brain is and also how the frontal lobe functions. The picture might be graphic to some students. It is a portrait of him holding the tamping iron and his eye is missing. It looks like it is closed. There is also a picture of his skull with the hole in it. It is educational.
