Students will learn or revisit the basics of the violin - the parts of the instrument, how to hold the violin with good posture, develop strong technique. I will also teach rudimentary music theory as we go along. The goal of the class is to get students comfortable with and confident in playing the instrument! I tailor my classes to each student's individual needs and repertoire goals - the violin is a difficult instrument to learn, and it is natural for each student to go at their own pace. While I am a classical teacher, I also like to make my own arrangements of pieces that kids may be more familiar with to promote a fun and relevant learning experience. 

While this class is learner directed and catered to students at each level, students can expect to follow the general schedule for each week: warm up/posture, violin exercises/studies, violin performance piece, music notation and sight reading. All materials will be provided by the teacher and shared in the Zoom classroom.
