Students will be able to use metacognition (thinking about one's thinking) to develop their guitar skills.
The guitar is my primary instrument and the one I love the most. I taught guitar for three years while I was a middle school music teacher and I also taught privately during that time. I have had success teaching for various instruments with various skill levels from beginner to advanced.

The learner will need a guitar (acoustic, classical, or electric) and should have regular access to it between lessons. If the student's goals or plan consist of recording, they will need a device or other software to record. I suggest using whatever recording software is already available on any device from home such as GarageBand or Voice Memos. Another great option is using the free web-based recording software found at Soundtrap.com. These details can be discussed during or after the first lesson.
If the student's goal consists of learning a song containing sensitive lyrics, I will communicate this to the parent and seek permission to continue before moving forward with that goal.
