==================== About the Class ==================== 

Now that you know the mechanics of the game, it's time to learn some basic strategy! In this class, you will learn:

- How to do special moves like castling and en passant
- How to use piece value to make decisions, and 
 - The most important chess strategy for a beginner or intermediate player: how to make less mistakes.

Lessons will be available through pre-recorded lessons that you can go through at your own pace. My teaching style is relaxed and fun. A student who is having fun is a student who is learning.

==================== About the Teacher ==================== 

I fell in love with the game of chess when my dad first taught me to play when I was 7 years old. To this day, it is a precious pass-time that we share. I went on to become the regional elementary champion and participated in the Canadian University Chess Championship as part of the University of Toronto team. I currently hold a rating of about 1900 and would love to share my passion for chess with anyone willing to learn. I encourage a growth mindset in all my classes, to take every win and loss as a learning experience.
