In this 6-week self-paced course, learners will explore the ins and outs of creating a successful YouTube channel as a gaming influencer. The class is perfect for beginners with big ideas who are ready to take their love of gaming and turn it into something exciting, creative, and potentially profitable.

We’ll begin by exploring the basics of video and photo editing, introducing students to the tools and techniques they can use to make their content stand out. Learners will also be guided step-by-step through the process of setting up their own YouTube channel, choosing a great name, and understanding what equipment is needed to create polished videos.

From there, students will dive into specific strategies for gaming content creation, including tips and tricks for playing popular games like Minecraft, Fortnite, Roblox, Zelda, Mario, Pokémon, Apex Legends, League of Legends, and Among Us. We'll explore how to record gameplay across various gaming platforms including Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation, and discuss what makes a gaming video exciting and shareable.

Throughout the course, students will develop essential skills in planning, storytelling, editing, and branding. They’ll learn how to create catchy videos and thumbnails, build a subscriber base, grow their community, and explore the basics of financial stability through YouTube monetization. They’ll also learn about copyright, music licensing, and how to stay safe online while building their public presence.

In addition to watching video lessons, students will complete weekly assignments designed to help them apply what they’ve learned. Tasks include brainstorming channel ideas, researching trends, editing clips, creating video content, and engaging in peer review. They’ll take part in a fun “video creation game” where they’ll challenge each other to make the funniest video, scoring each other's work in a playful, collaborative environment. This means plenty of interaction between the teacher and classmates throughout the week to ensure learners are supported and encouraged every step of the way.

By the end of the course, students will have a clear plan for launching and growing their own gaming YouTube channel, along with a final project that reflects their skills and personality as a creator.

This class allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a Self-Paced class with no live meetings, students can log in at a convenient time to complete the week's lesson.

The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week, as part of a project.

After watching each video and completing the homework assignments, students will be provided with feedback and the specific next steps on how to improve or adapt.

Time frame for the Week:
Mondays – The teacher will post the information needed for the week. Students can submit questions.
Tuesdays - Wednesday – The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the discussion.
Thursday – Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom for teacher feedback and discussion.
Friday – The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students. Students will also be able to engage in peer-to-peer review and discuss how they went about completing the tasks.
Saturday - Sunday – The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week.

No previous experience or knowledge is required to take this class. Just bring your passion for gaming, a willingness to learn, and a creative mindset!
