Learners should read the novel "Because of Winn-Dixie" and watch the entire movie before our meeting. Our discussion will focus on our impression of the screen version of our book. We will compare our vision for the characters, the setting, and the story to the producer's vision. We'll also share what we loved and didn't love about the screen version of this book. I am a 4th grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher in Texas. I do a novel study with my class over this novel each year! Certifications held: - Early Childhood - 6th Grade General Education - ESL (English as a Second Language) - Gifted and Talented - Science of Teaching Reading (phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics and word recognition, fluency, vocabulary, content knowledge development, and comprehension)
