📝 The Plan: Read the book of the week before class, and come to class ready to discuss the book, rate it, and turn in your quiz question! Our final class of the summer will be a celebration, and we will test everyone’s memory with a fun quiz based on the questions the students submitted over the course of the summer! It’s a party! 🎉 📚 The Books of Summer 2025! 1. Trumpet of The Swan by E.B. White 2. The Moffats by Eleanor Estes 3. White Fur Flying by Patricia MacLachlan 4. The Year of Ms. Agnes by Kirkpatrick Hill 5. The Borrowers by Mary Norton 6. Willowdeen by Katherine Applegate 7. My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George 8. Book Wanderers by Anna James 9. The Secret Wild by Alex Evelyn 10. A Place to Hang the Moon by Kate Albus 🤔 The Expectation: Full participation in class discussion! Each student will have a turn to share their thoughts, their favorite quote or favorite part. and to rate the book. Participation is expected. Videos and audio need to remain on, and students need to be mentally present and ready to engage in the discussion. My book clubs are typically highly engaging, highly interactive, very lively! When everyone is participating, the class time flies by! 🎧 Parents: If a student is experiencing difficulty finishing the books on time, I’d like to request that parents please allow audiobooks. Audiobooks are not cheating! Hearing books read aloud creates better readers! Always research the content of each book! I work hard to choose books that are well known and well received, but every family is different and has their own values and standards. Common Sense Media is an excellent resource to search the details about the content of the book.
수업 자료
Students will need a copy of each book. The book must be read or listened to BEFORE club each week. Students can use their own books, library books, ebooks, or listen to audiobooks.
