This is old school baton twirling, not trick twirling. It teaches the kind of routines based on the music, dancing to the music using baton twirls along the way. Gena started twirling in 2nd grade and hasn't stopped since! She became a majorette in 9th grade, the head majorette her junior year. Gena attended many twirling camps, some in Atlanta and others at the University of Tennessee, marched in many parades in various cities in the south and of course, twirled at many half-time shows!
Learning baton can be painful. Bruises will occur. Metal against skin and bone can hurt. Please make sure your child is not wearing loose clothing which can catch on the baton and that the Learner is not near anything that might break. Children will drop the baton at some point, probably many times. Slow and easy to prevent injuries is my mantra.
